On a recent trip to Finland, while riding back to the Helsinki on the train from Tampere; I found myself meditating on the events of my trip; the places I had been, the people I met, the meetings we had and what God had done. While in these thoughts I noticed two women come into the train car. One pushing the other sitting in a wheelchair. The woman assisting the disabled woman was glowing with love and kindness as she helped the other woman. Both women were talking to one another. The disabled woman had extreme disabilities but neither of them seem to consider them much. As they settled into the car they pulled out some kind of cards and were playing them. It sounded like English learning cards. There was another young woman who sat on the other side of the aisle who was invited to join them in their learning game.
As I sat there I began to have a conversation with the Lord regarding these two woman. It was very obvious to me that the woman who seemed to be the caretaker of the other was in her anointing, her purpose. The other woman's disabilities allowed her caretaker to express the Love of God through her giftings to help the woman in the wheelchair. I thought if I were to assume, as many others do, that my role as a minister would be to pray for the woman in the wheelchair to be healed without inquiring of the Lord His will, I would possibly deprive the caretaker of her role to express God's love in the way God destined her. Although I was having this conversation with the Lord He didn't answer me directly. What He did was open my understanding to see things from His perspective. How many situations in life do we encounter where we assume what appears to be bad or negative must be changed into what we consider right. When it is the difficulty of the situation in which God is actually working to bring people to their expected end. To become or to express God's love through the trial and the difficulty. Granted, there are bad situations. Think about the people God uses to deliver others out of the bad situations. Those people, the helpers, the deliverers are expressing God through their actions to help. That is why it is also important to make sure God wants us involved in each situation. He may want to use someone else and you are in the way. Going back to the woman in the wheelchair, does it mean that God doesn't want to heal her? No. Many times when people have asked me to pray for them, the thing they consider is important for prayer is not what God directs me to pray. I have been taught by the Lord to Stop, Ask, Listen and Obey His directives to see the result He wants to give. God is seeing the big picture. We may only be seeing what is right in front of us. Or what we think is right in front of us. There are things going on we often don't see that God is doing in the middle. He is always working in us. Developing His love and character in us. It's a process we all go through. We don't get to bypass the steps that he has structured for us, a personalized training course. 1Jn 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 1Jn 5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. We must inquire of God what His will is or what He has to say concerning each situation in our lives on a daily basis. We must not assume that because He answered a prayer for us in one situation a certain way that He will do it the same way every time. Unfortunately that is in the nature of man to do. God wants us to seek Him in all things, then, we consistently receive all answers from Him. There is another scripture that had also come to another level of understanding for me while considering things on the train, it comes from Mathew 7. Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven. Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Consider this. How many people go about praying and applying scripture to circumstances without inquiring of the Lord? They are using His book, His words without the knowledge of the plan for those particular circumstances. Remember, these people, that the Lord calls workers of iniquity, where in their understanding doing the Lord's will. How many of God's plans did they interfere with? Mess up? He said He never knew them. Meaning, they didn't have a relationship where they were inquiring of Him His will! Talking with Him. Interacting with Him. How often have we assumed a scripture applies just because it's in the bible? If we are praying and God drops a scripture in our heart, then that is a scripture we should apply. What if you think you interfered with God's plans by praying amiss? Just ask forgiveness from the Lord. Get His heart on the situation. Cancel all wrong prayers. How? Just say, “Father forgive me for praying outside of your will. I cancel all wrong prayers that were not prayed according to your will over my life or for anyone else or circumstance. I decree your perfect will be done. In Jesus Name.” Remember, Jesus teaches us in the Lord's prayer how to pray. First we must approach God in reverence and next ask for His will to be done. Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Let us pray always according to God's will. Remember, God's ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. He sees and knows the big picture. Also every thing He does is out of His perfect Love. Make sure you are inquiring of the Lord, so what you build will have eternal significance.
